چکیده

The Möbius inversion technique is applied to the Poisson summation formula. This results in expressions for the remainder term in the Fourier coefficient asymptotic expansion as an infinite series. Each element of this series is a remainder term in the corresponding Euler-Maclaurin summation formula, and the series has specified convergence properties. These expressions may be used as the basis for the numerical evaluation of sets of Fourier coefficients. The organization of such a calculation is described, and discussed in the context of a broad comparison between this approach and various other standard methods.

Fourier Transform Computation of Triangular Closed 2-Manifolds

In this paper we present a technique for the calculation of the Fourier transform for functions defined on oriented closed 2manifolds. The objects are given as oriented triangular meshes. We focus in this paper on the characteristic function of the model i.e. the function that is equal to one inside the model and zero outside. The advantage of our approach is that it provides an automatic, simp...

Simulation of Singular Fourth- Order Partial Differential Equations Using the Fourier Transform Combined With Variational Iteration Method

In this paper, we present a comparative study between the modified variational iteration method (MVIM) and a hybrid of Fourier transform and variational iteration method (FTVIM). The study outlines the efficiencyand convergence of the two methods. The analysis is illustrated by investigating four singular partial differential equations with variable coefficients. The solution of singular partia...

Dynamics of a Running Below-Knee Prosthesis Compared to Those of a Normal Subject

The normal human running has been simulated by two-dimensional biped model with 7 segments. Series of normal running experiments were performed and data of ground reaction forces measured by force plate was analyzed and was fitted to some Fourier series. The model is capable to simulate running for different ages and weights at different running speeds. A proportional derivative control algorit...

The Calculation of Fourier Coefficients by the Möbius Inversion of the Poisson Summation Formula. Part III. Functions Having Algebraic Singularities*

The purpose of this paper is to extend the MIPS theory described in Parts I and II to functions having algebraic singularities. As in the simpler cases, the theory is based on expressing the remainder term in the appropriate Fourier coefficient asymptotic expansion as an infinite series, each element of which is a remainder in the Euler-Maclaurin summation formula. In this way, an expression is...
